About us.... We have been letting houses to students of Southampton University for the past twenty years. We were both students ourselves in the 1960s. We taught and lectured for many years and retired as College principals in 1987. Student life, in one way or another, has remained part of our lives. We believe in offering students safe, clean, well decorated and carpeted houses. We constantly strive to improve, and have a continuous ongoing programme of refurbishments, in the effort to make our houses comfortable homes for our students. All our houses are registered with the University and are therefore fully compliant in gas, electric and smoke detection standards as required by the University. Although we have a large number of properties, a number of groups stay on year to year and so a limited number are offered for rent each year. All of our houses are fully centrally heated with gas. All properties are fully double glazed with UPVC windows. All houses have fully insulated lofts. Where students require it, we will install networking for broadband in our houses that do not already have it. While you are being shown a property, please feel free to ask all the questions that come to mind. If you forget something, call and ask on the telephone. When you make a decision, consult your parents. They are part of that decision and will be asked to become guarantors for your rent. The University has published a checklist and advice, which is quite comprehensive, and they will advise you personally if you wish. We have a good relationship with our existing students and feel that they are our best recommendation. Please feel free to speak to them, they do after all live in the houses!
